Sinagogue began in 2001, when Matt de la Roche decided to try making music after being inspired by various electronic artists. His first (and currently only) machine was bought in early 2002. This machine (a Yamaha RM1X) allowed him to make the music he wanted to, without using undesired computer software. Since he got this machine he has been creating songs and recording them with his computer, releasing the material on Mp3.com as Sinagogue. After Mp3.com decided not to host an unlimited amount of songs for non-pemium members (such as Sinagogue), he decided to begin to host his songs at IUMA.com.
